10 Tips To Reduce Stress

Stress Management

1. Determine your "unique ability" and capitalize on it

Delegate the tasks that detract from allowing you to shine--doing what you do best.

2. Define "urgent" vs "important"

By making this distinction, you can more effectively prioritize and accomplish your major goals list.

3. Focus on your priorities, not those of others

Don't be afraid to control your schedule. Be proactive in making plans.

4. Make written "To Do" lists & actually schedule time

Write tasks into your calendar to ensure adequate time is allotted for accomplishing them.

5. Think "bite size"

To avoid feeling overwhelmed, break tasks into small chunks, even into 15-minute increments and you'll see progress.

6. Set boundaries.

Don't be afraid to make time for you and don't let others encroach on it.

7. Ensure compatibility

Make sure you work with people (in all areas of your life ) whose values and integrity are consistent with yours.

8. Egos, be gone.

Don't let clients intimidate you or bully you. It's okay to ask why.

9. Reflect "You" in your work environment.

Decorate your space to support your creativity, energy and workflow...and avoid clutter.

10. End of Day Quarterbacking & Reward.

Take time to reflect on accomplishments at the end of each day, revise your priority list for the next day...and reward yourself with "quiet time" before going to bed.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.In this verse, Jesus Christ invites those that have struggles and those who are buried with issues and dilemmas. He invites people who have come to the point where they begin to feel as if all hope is lost. Mental, physical and spiritual fatigue are the bi-products of heavy burdens that we attempt to bare single handedly. Trying to handle our problems and situations on our own, ...(related: Stress Management)

Worry: Do We Have A Choice?
As Montaigne said, "he who fears he will suffer, already suffers because of his fears." We pay a huge cost for worrying, physically, mentally and emotionally; yet research shows that it affects most of us in some way. So what is it? From its original meaning of 'to strangle', worry has evolved over the centuries to our modern definition 'mental distress or agitation, resulting from concern, usually from something impending or anticipated'. It is constantly dwelling on and evaluati...(related: Stress Management)

Training Your Mind For Better Business And Leisure
Training Your Mind For Better Business and LeisureModern life moves at a very fast pace. At least, that is how many in Western society describe their existence whereby they rush to work, rush everything they do at work, and do so in a fixed routine which allows for little deviation. The focus is often on achieving the day's tasks, usually as dictated by employment, so to a large extent is beyond the individual's control. At least, that is how it can become. Particularly in the cities, where the associated stress is infectious. Such a way of life can weaken the body and mind, unless you take some simple steps to strengthen both as an individual. Even if you ha...(related: Stress Management)

Stress Management And Mastery: How To Handle Change
Q. I have just recently come to recognize that I don't handle change very well, although my husband and friends have told me that for years. I seem to have trouble with changes that are out of my control. And then when I try to change things I want to change, I just don't know what to do and get bogged down. What do you recommend?A.I believe that most people do not like change because they either don't know how to respond to it or they respond poorly. One way to think about this is that change is like waves on the beach. Just like change, waves are relentless and can be powerful, and there's...(related: Stress Management)

Manage Stress And Fear: Visit The Secret Garden!
Recently I completed some new workshop engagements in addition to my coaching and week-long programs. I am very grateful for the opportunity to stretch and learn but am also acutely aware of the stress I am feeling taking on this new work.Indeed, I am feeling more stress than I care to admit to. Too often I find myself driven by feelings of "I don't know enough, not prepared enough, don't have enough time, don't have the right answers to their problems?" Translation? "I am not enough; I feel inadequate, anxious, afraid; I won't be able to do it right." (Although, a part of me knows with certainty I'll do just fine!)It is interesting how we suffer the same feelings when we're not working? "not feeling good enough, feeling a lack of the skills, knowledge, experience, answers neede...(related: Stress Management)
